For the following student categories:

1. New Non-local Research Postgraduate Students
2. New Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPF) Awardees
3. New HKU Presidential PhD Scholarship (HKU-PS) Awardees

Important Notes:

Full-time students in the above student categories on July 1, 2024 and thereafter are guaranteed a hall place to the end of the residential year within their first year of admittance, at a residence assigned by the University, subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Please read the “General Information” carefully before completing this form.
2. Applicants should complete this online application form in English. Failure to complete the form duly may affect the chance of admission.
3. Each applicant should only submit ONE application during the application period.
4. Duplicate applications will be rejected and will not be processed.
5. Students holding conditional offer from the University can apply for housing, but housing offer will only be made upon acceptance of University admission offer.
6. After submitting the online application form, please send a copy of your ���E-offer admission letter��� and required supporting document(s) by clicking the ���File Upload��� button���. The File upload button will be appeared once you have completed the online hall application form.
7. This first-year housing guarantee is effective only during the first academic year of research postgraduate study. It cannot be used in later years even if students are admitted to an additional programme in HKU.
8. The University DOES NOT GUARANTEE housing for new students coming with their spouse and dependants.
9. Each applicant can select and rank a maximum of three (3) choices from all postgraduate residence choices available.
10. Application will be assessed by the respective postgraduate residences, in the order as indicated on the form. If the selected residences are not available, then the housing guarantee will ensure a randomly assigned residential place in other university-administered housing.
